I have been a long-time follower of Rina Sjardin-Thompson on Facebook, consistently impressed by her breathtaking landscape photography. Her artistic vision shines through in the distinctiveness of her shots, and her unwavering dedication to her craft is reflected in the exceptional quality of her photography.
When we approached Rina to stay at Lake Ohau Quarters for a photo shoot to capture new images for our website and advertising campaigns, we were thrilled when she graciously accepted our invitation. Our time was filled with exciting expeditions across various sites on Lake Ohau Station, whether 4WDing or using the Side-by-side vehicle, all the while capturing unique moments without the need for staging. Rina possesses the unique ability to document moments unobtrusively, effortlessly blending into the scene. Her perceptive eye and intuition consistently place her in the right spot at the right time.
Throughout her week with us, Rina took thousands of spectacular shots, making it a delightful challenge to select the images for our use.
“Lake Ohau has been a significant part of my life for a decade, and photographically, it has been exceptionally rewarding. To capture exceptional images, it’s vital for me to forge a deep connection with the environment I’m in, and Lake Ohau is undoubtedly one of my favorite places.” Rina shared.
After the Covid lockdown was lifted, Rina conducted her inaugural workshop at Lake Ohau. Since then, she has returned each year, organizing exclusive weekends for women, and is planning to host a mentorship retreat soon.
